“At first I wasn’t crazy about this one but it still caught my attention nonetheless. Enough to give it a second chance for sure.By the second time I tried this I noticed a quality, especially in the opening, that’s hard to describe beyond the notes themselves but rather the way the notes are orchestrated and balanced is just masterful. The akigalawood drydown is more simple but still very good with that PDM vibe and also lasts hours but that opening….THAT personally may just the best opening I’ve ever smelled in a fragrance. Similar to LV Imagination but with PDM magic.”
“Nothing special with this one. I purely bought it because I like the PDM brand and was looking for a good office scent. The longevity and projection is decent at best. If you are looking for a quality office or summer scent, I would suggest trying Xerjoff Renaissance.”
“If Parfums de Marly are trying to pivot toward that LV-style formula - overpriced, ultra-safe, predictable freshies - then they’ve nailed it. I honestly don’t know what they were thinking with Castley. To me it smells like a clone house’s failed attempt at duping a high-end scent: cleaned up, less cloying, but painfully safe, unoriginal, uninspired. No chance I'm paying for this. It’s clean and inoffensive, sure - but still boring and wildly overpriced for what it delivers.”
