“This was my signature when I bought it in 1993. It was the best of 3 worlds- the opening, the mid, and that glorious dry down that was worth the price of admission. Unfortunately, they destroyed it. I got a bottle in 2003, the dry down is gone. Why did they destroy my favorite fragrance??”

“Originally, my dad gave me this fragrance when I was 16 and the opening was too sharply herbal and mature for me. Now, after 4 years, however--and maybe due to it mascerating for 10+ years in my dad's collection--I have come back to love this fragrance. After the opening, it smells like a soft, light green, slightly woody cloud. The most prominent notes for me are VERY spiky but short-lived rosemary, soft geranium, soft oakmoss, and smooth sandalwood.”

“I love Platinum Egoiste, but I don't find it modern at all, nor do I smell any metallic note. It's an old school aromatic fougere from the early 90s, when men's colognes actually still smelled masculine. It's got dry, smoky aromatics like sage and rosemary counterbalanced by smooth oakmoss and powdery amber. Performance is excellent, providing room-filling projection and 12-hour longevity. Try it out at your local Sephora, Ulta, etc. and if you like the smell, it's well worth shelling out the $130 for a big bottle.”
