“I have an original from 1989 and one from 2020's, it is still quite good, but nothing like the original. The intense smell of plastic in the opening and the deep smokiness of the drydown had been taken away from it. What a shame...It is still nice fragrance, but not enough if you know the depth and beasty power of the 80's version...I am keeping the new one though, because of the sentiment, layering it with something smoky.”
“Not my type of perfume, but my mom loves it. She had bought the original formulation from a trip to France. To me, the ylang ylang, the incense, and the sandalwood are way too overpowring and cannot smell the rest of the ingredients. Overall I'd say it's a powdery, musky, old-fashion scent. If you are into that, then this would be for you. It lasts a long time and can be worn at the office as well as the evening. I would say though for me, this is a winter and fall fragrance; can't imagine wearing it on a warm day.”
“What a difference time makes! I recently bought a bottle from 2014, then another which dates to 1998. The first, smelled of insect repellent and even as it dried down, it took hours to lose that initial blast of citronella. The bottle from 1998, oh wow! It's gorgeous! There's little comparison, aside from the taste it gives you in your mouth when you spray it!Loulou, like her namesake, is not for the faint hearted. I look forward to a relationship with the older batch and will likely sell the younger batch on.”
