Promise Exclusif captures the bright citrus opening and creamy floral heart of the original fairly well, with comparable sillage and projection in the first few hours. However, the base develops slightly differently—the clone's sandalwood feels less refined and the musk appears more synthetic, making the dry-down feel slightly cheaper and less sophisticated than Frederic Malle's balanced composition.
The clone matches the top and middle notes reasonably but falls short in base longevity and quality; the original's sandalwood is creamier and more complex, while Promise Exclusif's projection tapers faster after 4-5 hours.
