Cosmopolitan Vintage captures the bright bergamot opening and fresh lavender-geranium heart of Sauvage quite competently, delivering a similar clean, aromatic profile. However, the clone lacks the complexity of Sichuan pepper and the warm labdanum sweetness found in the original's base, resulting in a slightly thinner dry-down that doesn't quite achieve the same sophistication or longevity.
The clone performs well on the top and heart notes but falls short in base depth and longevity compared to the original. Cosmopolitan Vintage reads as a slightly more linear, less nuanced interpretation that loses some of Sauvage's signature warmth and staying power.
