Strawberry Mochi

“On my skin it smells exactly like how eating a strawberry daifuku is like. On immediate spray it smells like the rice flour and stick mochi, before it turns into a warm red bean/ brown sugar note. It’s oddly comforting, and the dry down for me reveals the strawberry, a mildly tart but beautiful note that follows the dry down on my skin.”

“the opening is so comforting and delicious - it's a soft powdery sweet rice scent balanced perfectly with a sweet red bean paste note. it actually smells a lot like a boba shop, especially the ones that cook bubble waffles. it does then develop into a white floral note that is nauseating to me :/ and then mellows back out to its gourmand side. sillage and longevity are better than other d'annam perfumes i've tried but still nothing crazy.”

“The strawberry comes out later in the dry down, but of course, the starchy fluffiness of the rice accord is the main attraction here. It’s stunningly realistic and projects just enough to get pleasant wafts of it throughout the day. The dry down does turn out to be a more typical vanilla and brown-sugar-covered strawberry, but again, it’s fluffy and pleasant, and I would say fairly worth the price tag for the novelty and the funky bottle!”
