Happy Oud captures the citrus brightness and oud-forward character of Oud for Happiness reasonably well, with a similar uplifting opening and woody progression. However, the clone lacks the refined floral complexity of the original, particularly in the heart where the jasmine adds a delicate sweetness that Zimaya's version doesn't replicate as effectively. The base is slightly thinner and dries down faster, missing some of the original's creamy amber richness.
Zimaya's version has better performance in the first 2-3 hours but fades noticeably faster than the original, with reduced longevity and sillage. The heart notes feel more generic and woody rather than the balanced floral-oud interplay of the designer fragrance.
