Black Amber by Zara captures the warm amber and vanilla base of The One but misses much of the fruity and floral complexity that defines the original. The clone skews heavier on amber in the heart, creating a more straightforward gourmand fragrance rather than the balanced fruity-floral composition of D&G's original. Longevity and sillage are noticeably reduced compared to the designer version.
The clone simplifies the fruity top notes (losing peach and litchi) and sacrifices the prominent floral heart (lily, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley) in favor of amber prominence. Black Amber has shorter longevity and weaker projection than the original.
