Maison Alhambra
Best Frederic Malle The Night Dupe
The Artist No. 2 captures the smoky, resinous character of The Night's oud-amber base quite effectively, though the rose heart reads slightly softer and less distinctly Turkish in the clone. The overall woody-amber progression is faithful, but Maison Alhambra's interpretation lacks some of the original's sophisticated spice complexity and slightly diffuses the rose prominence that defines Frederic Malle's composition.
The clone's heart notes are less pronounced and lack the refined Turkish rose distinction of the original, while the base performs adequately but with slightly less depth and longevity. The top notes are somewhat different in character, leaning slightly more herbal in the clone versus the original's spicier opening.
