Velvet Rose captures the spiced rose and oud character of Rose D'Arabie quite effectively, with a similar warm amber base and woody undertones. However, Lattafa's interpretation feels slightly less refined in the middle notes, with the rose-oud interplay coming across as more linear and less complex than the original's layered composition.
Velvet Rose has slightly shorter longevity (5-6 hours vs 7-8 hours) and marginally less sillage than the original. The clone's saffron opening is more pronounced, while the oud-sandalwood transition feels less nuanced in the dry-down.
