Ebony Fume captures the smoky, woody character of the original with decent fidelity in its core composition. The top notes open similarly fresh, and the oud-leather heart is present, though with slightly less refinement and depth. However, the base lacks the same sophistication, feeling a touch more synthetic and less refined than Tom Ford's masterful blending.
The clone performs reasonably well in projection and longevity but lacks the elegant balance and nuance of the original. Expect a slightly harsher tobacco and less smooth musk development compared to Ebene Fume's polished finish.
