Best Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Velours Dupe
Athoor Al Alam Anaqeed Rouge captures the spiced opening and floral heart of Rouge Velours reasonably well, with comparable pepper and jasmine presence. However, the clone appears to soften the olibanum (frankincense) prominence found in the original, resulting in a slightly less complex and woody base. Longevity and sillage are typically good for a clone house release, though the original's sophisticated incense-amber dry-down is somewhat muted.
The clone lacks the distinctive olibanum richness that gives Rouge Velours its liturgical depth and complexity. Fragrance World's interpretation leans slightly sweeter and less woody in the base compared to the original's more austere, incense-forward finish.
