Fruity Overdose captures the distinctive cherry-almond liqueur character of Maraschino reasonably well, with a comparable sweet gourmand structure built on tonka and vanilla in the heart. However, the clone tends to emphasize the fruity aspects slightly more aggressively while the sandalwood-amber base feels marginally softer, resulting in a slightly less refined and creamy finish than the original.
The clone's fruity notes are more prominent in projection, potentially overshadowing the delicate almond-tonka balance of the original. Longevity and sillage are also typically noticeably lower with Dua's interpretation compared to Sospiro's formulation.
