Dua
Best Tom Ford Velvet Orchid Dupe
Blossom of Vetiver captures the floral heart and warm vanilla base of Velvet Orchid reasonably well, but diverges significantly by introducing vetiver as a dominant base note where the original features suede and balsam complexity. The top citrus accords are similar, though Dua's version reads slightly fresher and less spiced, missing the rum and the original's sophisticated resinous depth.
The clone substitutes vetiver for the original's suede/balsam/myrrh composition, creating a greener, more herbaceous dry-down rather than the creamy, ambery finish of Tom Ford's version. Additionally, Blossom of Vetiver appears to have reduced floral complexity, with fewer heart notes and less overall longevity.
