Ancient Leather by Dua captures the structural skeleton of Cuoium quite effectively, delivering a similar leather-forward composition with matching aromatic and woody undertones. However, the original's refined galbanum brightness and aldehydic sparkle tend to be slightly softer in the clone, and the overall animalic musk character feels less sophisticated. Longevity and sillage are generally comparable, though Cuoium maintains better projection in the opening hours.
The clone slightly softens the top notes' brightness and the distinctive leather character isn't quite as textured or complex as the original. Dua's version is more accessible but lacks some of the refined animalic warmth and nuanced iris-tobacco interplay that defines Cuoium.
