Niche Oud by Armaf captures the citrus-herbal opening and woody-musky DNA of M7 quite effectively, with a similar progression from bright top notes into a creamy amber-oud heart. The clone maintains reasonable longevity and silage comparable to the original, though the oud tends to be slightly more diffusive and less refined in the drydown, lacking some of the vetiver's elegant subtlety found in the designer version.
The clone's oud is more prominent and linear in the later stages, whereas M7 balances its oud with more sophisticated vetiver nuances. Niche Oud also tends to project more aggressively in the initial spray, making it slightly less elegant overall despite accurate note recreation.
