The Scoop

Bucephalus No. II captures the crisp citrus opening and aromatic green tea character of Silver Mountain Water quite well, making it a respectable budget alternative. The main shortcoming is a slightly softer galbanum presence in the heart, which dulls the mineral-herbal complexity that defines the original's signature. Longevity and sillage are noticeably lighter, though the dry-down maintains acceptable similarity.

Key Differences

The clone lacks the sharp galbanum edge that gives SMW its distinctive green, slightly metallic character; it reads softer and more conventionally fresh. Longevity is reduced by approximately 2-3 hours compared to the original's 6-8 hour projection.
