L'Oudh captures the woody-oriental DNA of Oud Ispahan reasonably well, with a comparable balance of rose and patchouli in the heart. However, the clone tends toward a slightly sharper, more synthetic interpretation of the oud base, lacking some of the creamy labdanum smoothness and subtle spiced complexity found in the Dior original.
The Dior version offers greater depth and a more refined oud character with better longevity (6-8 hours vs. 4-6 hours for the clone). Maison Alhambra's interpretation skews slightly more linear and less nuanced in the base evolution.
