Armaf's Sillage captures the bright citrus opening and fresh green tea character of Silver Mountain Water quite well, making it a respectable budget-friendly alternative. However, the clone tends to soften the galbanum's sharp, herbal bite and doesn't quite achieve the same crisp, crystalline quality that makes the original distinctive. The base notes are fairly similar, though the original's sandalwood feels more prominent and refined.
Sillage lacks the distinctive galbanum prominence and overall freshness intensity of the original, resulting in a softer, less complex fragrance. Longevity and sillage performance are also typically shorter on the clone compared to Creed's superior formulation.
