L'oudh captures the smoky leather and oud foundation of Leather Oud reasonably well, with the spiced opening and woody base notes present. However, the clone lacks the complexity and animalic depth from the civetta note, resulting in a thinner middle section and less nuanced development throughout the wear cycle.
The clone simplifies the heart notes and reduces the overall aromatic complexity, particularly missing the animalistic richness and vetiver's green character that give the original its sophisticated character. Longevity and sillage are noticeably lighter in L'oudh compared to the dense, projection-heavy original.
