Sultry Woods captures the aromatic backbone of Shem fairly well, with similar citrus top notes and woody-leather heart development. However, the clone feels slightly less refined in the base, with a more synthetic ambroxan projection and softer oud depth compared to Nishane's richer, more animalic interpretation.
The original has better longevity and a more complex leather-tobacco interplay, while the clone leans slightly sweeter and more linear in progression. Sillage is comparable, but Shem projects with greater sophistication throughout its wear.
