Hunter Intense captures the fresh citrus-pepper opening and geranium-lavender heart of Sauvage EDT fairly well, making it a solid budget alternative for the first few hours. However, the base differs noticeably—Hunter Intense relies more heavily on amber and musk rather than the woody-resinous complexity of cedar and labdanum found in the original, resulting in a sweeter, less refined dry-down.
Hunter Intense has comparable top and heart performance but a noticeably sweeter, more synthetic base lacking Sauvage's woody depth. The clone also tends to have slightly less sillage and longevity compared to the designer original.
